Car slams into Olympia daycare | 911
A teacher and two children were hit by falling debris after a car smashed into a classroom at a daycare on Olympia’s west side Thursday morning.
Olympia Police Lt. Jim Costa tells KOMO a man driving a 2007 Acura SUV crashed into KinderCare Learning Center located at 2303 9th Avenue Southwest around 8:42 a.m.
The teacher and eight children were in the classroom at the time. There were no injuries, but the teacher was taken to the hospital as a precaution.
Costa said there is no indication the 33-year-old man driving the SUV was under the influence of drugs or alcohol and police are investigating the car for a possible mechanical problem.
