More than 30 cats rescued from Rochester home | Pets
Title
An Olympia animal rescue group is hoping to find new homes for more than 30 cats rescued from a trailer home near Rochester this week.
The cats were left behind when the resident of the home was evicted, according to Jo MacGugan of the Feline Friends organization.
“All they had left was a jar of peanut butter and a can of tomato soup. They had eaten down the can as far as they could,” MacGugan said.
MacGugan received information about the abandoned pets from a neighbor earlier this week and began rescuing the cats on Tuesday. In all, 37 cats were taken from the home.
“Three didn’t make it because of health reasons,” MacGugan said.
The cats are available for adoption now and MacGugan said they have been examined by a veterinarian.
