Comics, animation on display this weekend | Arts & Culture

Fans of comics and animation are in for a treat this weekend in Olympia.

The ninth annual Olympia Comics Festival and the Eye Candy Animation Festival are on Saturday, June 5.

The comics festival features workshops, a stage show featuring burlesque dancers and the chance to meet independent artists from around the region.

Events start at noon and take place throughout the day at various locations downtown. For a complete list of events, check out the festival’s blog.

The free animation festival starts at 9 p.m. at Capitol Theater and is being organized by Tommy Thompson, a senior at The Evergreen State College.
